At Lincoln High School our mission, through combined efforts of alumni's, parents, and community leaders, is to continue a legacy through historical basic education, to provide continued financial support, to foster pride through strong work ethics and to create a long lasting cohesive group honoring a historical black high school.

I, too, sing America.

I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow strong.

Tomorrow,
I’ll sit at the table
When company comes.
Nobody’ll dare
Say to me,

“Eat in the kitchen,”
Then.
Besides,
They’ll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed—
